The customer service game has changed and finding the right approach to building a strong service culture for your company can be difficult. But no matter how your company operates, the same basic building blocks can be used to help achieve an uplifting service culture. Our next Zen Master Webinar will feature New York Times bestselling author and founder of UP! Your Service, Ron Kaufman.

A global consultant, speaker, and educator on the topic of building a service culture, Kaufman will discuss 5 key elements to creating uplifting customer service. By using examples of his experiences with some of the world’s best performing companies, he will show how his 5 elements can become actionable steps that you can use to build a sustainable culture and deliver outstanding service to your customers.

The very first element discussed in his book, Uplifting Service: The Proven Path to Delighting Your Customers, Colleagues and Everyone Else You Meet, is to ask yourself a simple question: why? Why improve your customer service? Kaufman shows how an uplifting service culture can help economic growth, employee engagement, value creation, and a sustainable competitive advantage by starting off with that very simple question.

Satisfied customers are far more likely to be loyal customers, and exceptional customer service can help you build a satisfied, loyal customer base. Our own customers are using Zendesk, which has helped them achieve an average 86% positive satisfaction rating. Great customer service can help your company differentiate itself from competitors. No matter what your product is, how big you are, or who you serve, the basic principles of customer service remain the same. Any company that goes beyond expectations to provide a truly uplifting customer service will get a reputation as a great service provider. And that’s the kind of reputation your business can be proud of.

Register for the webinar here. For those who can’t make the live webinar, we’ll send a link to the recorded version to all registrants.

This Wednesday, July 18th, Zendesk and sf.citi are hosting an exciting panel for developers and designers to encourage fresh ideas to help solve the Fresh Food Dilemma: How can Central Market and Tenderloin residents store and prepare healthy food when access to kitchen facilities is limited?

Tomio Geron, a veteran reporter at Forbes with ample experience covering food justice issues will be moderating this exciting panel.

You can register for the event here.

Access to fresh produce and healthy options is limited for many San Francisco residents living in the city’s Central Market neighborhood. Compounding the problem is the fact that kitchen facilities to store, prepare, or cook fresh food are scarce. Unfortunately, this narrows affordable eating options to fast food outlets or processed food bought from a corner store. The Central Market area has the second highest ratio of fast food/convenience stores per produce outlet and at the moment, continues to be without a full-service grocery store.

This dilemma is a tricky one and it requires innovation, new ideas, and the courage to try things that have never been tried before. It is our hope that we can tap into the city’s esteemed developer and designer community to find the answer to this decades-long issue.

The event on July 18th, kicks off at 6 p.m. at the Zendesk offices located at 989 Market Street. The panel will last from 6:30 – 7.30 p.m. and we would love you to stick around afterwards for some refreshments and a networking reception from 7:30 – 8 p.m.

Confirmed speakers include:

Jonathan Axtell, associate producer at Social Capital Markets

Karen Nemsick, executive director at Rebuilding Together San Francisco

Dan Parham, CEO of Neighborland

Matthias Mormino, legislative aide

Supervisor Jane Kim

Phil Clark, director of education and employment at Episcopal Community Services

Hosting this panel extends our commitment to revitalizing the Central Market area and our support of the ImproveSF challenge by gathering together some local innovators to help find a solution to the ongoing food justice issue facing residents.

We hope to see you on Wednesday!
