Which Businesses Should Tweet and Which Should Skip It

Almost every business you walk into today, from your local mechanic to your hair salon, has the ubiquitous “follow us on Twitter” decal posted somewhere on its storefront. Some businesses are obvious choices for nurturing a Twitter following. We all want to know what daily specials our favorite cafe is offering, but others are head scratchers. Why on earth would we follow our dry cleaner? And really, if you have an answer to that, we definitely want to know.

    Every business needs a Twitter account and if they can't do the work correctly that is why there are plenty of social media managers out there to create the right strategy and a manage the daily social media tasks for businesses. Those businesses who do not use social media will be left behind.

    I disagree with the comment below. My husband runs a landscaping business with very few repeat customers (usually the only have one garden). So why would he need to tweet, and what about? Who’s going to be reading?
