Manage shortcuts in multiple languages

The Dynamic Content for Shortcuts app lets you create a single shortcut in your default language and then translate it into all the languages you support. When you select a default shortcut, the app automatically detects the language the customer is using and displays the shortcut in the appropriate language.

With this app, agents won’t have to select from a long list of multi-language shortcuts again. Managing shortcuts will also be easier, with just one shortcut for a specific piece of content.

Note: This app is only available if you have a Zendesk Support Professional Plan and above.

Getting Started with the Dynamic Content App:

  1. Ensure you have a Zendesk Support Professional or Enterprise plan.
  2. Install the application from the Zendesk App Marketplace.
  3. In Zendesk Support, create a dynamic content item (Admin > Manage > Dynamic Content) and copy its placeholder (example, {{dc.welcome}}).
  4. In Zendesk Chat, create your shortcut (Settings > Shortcuts) and insert the dynamic content placeholder accordingly.
  5. Begin a chat in Zendesk Chat and start chatting. Based on the visitor language detected, your selected shortcut in the appropriate language variant will be displayed for you to use.
