Supported version

This is the legacy (v2) version of the JIRA OnPremise integration. Compatible with:

  • Atlassian JIRA Server (OnPremise) & JIRA Data Center
  • JIRA 6.3.x to 6.4.x (any 6.4 version)

To get the latest version compatible with JIRA Server 7.x and JIRA Cloud, install the Zendesk add-on from the Atlassian marketplace as explained here

If your organization uses Zendesk Support for customer support and JIRA to track work internal to your organization, Zendesk for JIRA enables easy escalation of support tickets to JIRA issues. This integration enables comment sharing between your support agents and JIRA users, mapping of important fields between tickets and issues, and the ability to automatically solve Zendesk Support tickets by resolving JIRA issues.

Zendesk for JIRA uses the Networked Help Desk open standard for easy synchronization of information between Zendesk Support and JIRA.


  • Create a new JIRA issue from a Zendesk Support ticket
  • Link a ticket to an existing JIRA issue
  • Automatically resolve Zendesk Support tickets by resolving JIRA issues

Getting Started

  1. Sign in to your Zendesk Support account.
  2. Configure Zendesk Support and JIRA according to the Getting Started guide.
  3. In the Zendesk Application Marketplace, click the JIRA Legacy app, then click Install.

Now, when you click on Share in a ticket and select your JIRA ticket sharing agreement, the application will prompt you to enter the project and story type in JIRA you want to associate the issue with. When you submit the information, a new JIRA issue will be created.
