Tip of the week: Showing Help Center article timestamps in a 12-hour format

By default in Zendesk, Help Center article timestamps appear in a 24-hour format. But what if you want to display timestamps in a 12-hour format?

In this tip of the week, I cover how to display timestamps in a 12-hour format. Here’s how we’ll do it:

  1. In the Help Center, click Customize design in the tools panel on the lower-right side of the page.
  2. Click Edit theme in the left pane.
  3. Click the drop-down menu in the Theme editor, and select a Article page.
  4. Add the {{created_at}} or the {{updated_at}} component surrounded by div tags.
  5. Click the JS tab and add this code.
  6. Click Save to save your changes. Click Preview to see how they’ll appear in your Help Center.
  7. When you’re ready to deploy your changes, click Publish Changes at the top of the sidebar.
