Zendesk moved to San Francisco just under two years ago. It is one of the best decisions we’ve made in our four-year history. The move to San Francisco has allowed us to grow our product and our exceptionally talented team at a very rapid pace, here, and around the globe. Recently, we’ve expanded our offices in San Francisco, kicked off new business offices in London, and opened a development center in Copenhagen. San Francisco is a fantastic location for a growing business, and we’ve always felt privileged to be part of a vibrant community. Every day, we rub shoulders with cloud software companies, both big and small, based here in San Francisco; many of whom are our customers or partners.
As Zendesk grows, we want to give back to the San Francisco community. So we’ve decided to align ourselves to a great cause in supporting the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Zendesk is pledging to donate $1 million to the hospital over the next year. We’re kicking this off with a unique sponsorship of a benefit concert tomorrow, September 1 at Davies Symphony Hall. The concert features Alanis Morissette, Jay Leno and an after party with will.i.am and MC Hammer. The concert is also sponsored by the Salesforce.com foundation.
Our pledge comes on the heels of our great two-way integration we have with Salesforce and new upcoming enhancements including integration with Chatter, Salesforce’s private social network.
Our pledge to San Francisco
Throughout the year we’ll announce other opportunities for our employees, partners and customers to all work together in helping UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital with their mission to offer care to children and their families at what will become the most advanced children’s hospital in the world. UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital will provide patient-centered care, supporting the translation of medical research into clinical practice, developing the next generation of medical technology, and training caregivers of the future to advance healthcare worldwide. The hospital is associated with UCSF, a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care.
We’ll keep you posted with additional events and activities that will help UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital so we can all work together. If you have ideas about other ways to contribute, please let us know by posting a comment below.
